Summer 2016 Games Worth Checking Out
Here are some of the best games available right now that released over the Summer:
Mobile: Pokemon Go
A mobile game might not be everyone’s first choice but Pokemon Go has taken the world by storm for a variety of reasons. It’s a great ‘excuse’ to leave the house for a few hours each day and to make it better, there’s a strong community of players who are hosting different meet up events at the best Pokemon locations.
It’s fun, it’s engaging and it’s highly social.
Other good choices: Telltale games for Mobile, Pokemon Shuffle, Fallout Shelter, Plants vs Zombies 2
First-Person Shooter: Doom
This is one of the most entertaining FPS games around right now and it allows players to be as casual or hardcore as they like; it features a long campaign, player created levels and an active multiplayer. There’s plenty of content in Doom to keep players occupied and all skill levels are catered for throughout the game.
When it comes to fast-paced and gory FPS with co-op and a detailed multiplayer, this is one of the best choices around.

RPG: The Witcher 3
When it comes to great RPG games, The Witcher 3 is an easy choice. The game features a huge amount of content which is guaranteed to keep players interested for hundreds of hours; the DLC story expansions are even longer than most blockbuster games. This is easily one of the best games to be released in recent years.
A full open world, hundreds of hours of content an a dynamic beard growth system. There’s not much The Witcher 3 doesn’t have.

Action: Dark Souls 3
In terms of replay value and action, Dark Souls 3 is one of the best games around. The Souls series is known for being difficult however so it’s probably not for everyone’s taste but the Dark Souls series are solid action games with some RPG elements thrown into the mix.
Challenging yet filled with content, there’s lots to do in this game and plenty to keep players coming back for more.

Adventure: No Man’s Sky
While this game has only just been released, No Man’s Sky promises to offer a lot for players to explore. Each planet in the game is filled with new and diverse life which players can interact with on their journey to the center of the universe. There’s a lot to see in this game and plenty to experience.
With around 18 quadrillion planets in the game, it’s easy to see why adventure fans are excited to see this game finally being released.

Strategy: XCOM 2
Good strategy games can be tricky to find so luckily the second XCOM game is brilliant. It allows players to be extremely strategic in their moves while offering an entertaining plot line which is something most strategy games lack. There’s lots of replay value here and it’s an easy game to pick up,
Turn-based strategy and aliens is a great combination. Being easy to pick up and having an entertaining plot makes this a game a must have for strategy fans.
Other good choices: Total War: Warhammer, Hearts of Iron IV, Darkest Dungeon, Factorio
Horror: Dead by Daylight
While this is not a typical horror game, it is very entertaining and offers a lot of replay value. This is an asymmetrical 1v4 online multiplayer where 4 survivors attempt to escape the arena as they are hunted down by a single killer. Each killer is different and has unique abilities based on famous horror movie killers.
While it’s not a classic horror game, it still offers the opportunity for scares with its tense gameplay.

Sports: Rocket League
There aren’t too many new games in the Sports genre that stand out but Rocket League certainly has and its become a surprise hit. While the upcoming Rumble mode won’t be released until September, there’s still plenty of content in the game to keep player occupied for a very long time.
Players can expect fast paced action from this game and a friendly community to engage in.

Simulation: American Truck Simulator
Explore the roads of America while completing various jobs to grow a strong trucking business. It may not sound like the most interesting game in the world but the Truck Simulator series is one of the highest rated simulation series around; the gameplay is casual yet addictive.
There’s a lot to see in this game and it’s perfect for a relaxing or casual gaming session.
