4. Starbound
Whether or not Starbound counts could be up for debate; the game was in early access for quite some time but its finally been officially released. It offers players with a lot of freedom and is set after the destruction of the players home world; the force that destroyed it is still at large for the player to deal with or they could choose to focus of rebuilding a home for themselves elsewhere.
There’s lots of content in this game and while it’s currently only available on the PC, console versions are currently being developed.
3. Headlander
Beautiful yet amusing, Headlander has the player control the last Human in the universe as they seek clues about their past; the only Human left, is just a disembodied head in a space helmet.
